NEWSLETTER - WINTER 2018
Christmas greetings from Vision Thailand Ministries Chairman Daniel Khumsaen, his wife Jintana and children. Thank you very much for your prayers and financial support for Thailand churches.

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. Luke 2:13-18

This is the mission of Vision Thailand Canada, "they spread the word."
Just returned from a very encouraging trip to Thailand. All I can say is that the Thai Churches are spreading the Word and many Thai people are curious about this Rabbi named Jesus. Forty-one of our fifty-four Vision Thailand Churches are doing a Christmas Evangelism Outreach in their communities this Christmas to join the angels in proclaiming, "Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom His favor rests." Thank you for helping the Thai church do this, the Thai way.

A BRIEF UPDATE:

  • Our goal is to start ten new church plants in the coming year: we are already well under way with five starts. Vision Thailand Ministries wants to grow faster than we can provide the resources needed. So, we are being careful as to how fast we should grow to sustain it. What a great problem to have.
  • By the end of this month, five more churches are becoming financially independent and have asked us to use those funds to start new churches. Vision Thailand Ministry policy is to support each new church plant for a period of five years. Another seven have indicated to us that they will be independent by the end of 2019.
  • God has blessed us with a new VT Ministries Headquarters in November. Renovations are being planned even as I write this letter and the goal is to move in by Easter 2019. The amazing thing is that we didn't have to raise a single dollar to purchase this new building. All the proceeds are coming from the sale of an older building VT owned in a more expensive part of Bangkok.
  • VT Ministries have four main goals - Church Planting, Leadership Training and Development, Outreach and Evangelism and small scale Community Projects. The last one is mandated by the Thai government for all charities - to give something to the communities where we work.
  • As you heard, last year we worked on six Bore Wells in Northern remote tribal communities. We went to visit two of those villages last month and the people are so grateful for the gift of water right in their own community.
  • The Thai Board has come up with several practical projects and we would invite your partnership with these. Our aim to work toward a wholistic ministry to the body and soul.
  • We are looking at three small projects for now:
  • $400 of Seed Money to start a small Chicken Farm with 25 chickens
  • $500 of Seed Money to start a small Pig Farm with three piglets
  • $1,200 of Seed Money to start a small Mushroom Growing Farm
  • Each rural church will receive a project to raise funds for their own church and pastor's family support. The goal is for these churches to in turn pay it back by helping another new church in a neighboring village, and so on. You want to help grow churches in Thailand by helping to support these projects?
  • As you make Christmas gift plans and lists, would you consider an extra gift under the tree for a pastor's family in Thailand?

I reported in our Summer Newsletter that a new church building in Phuket is being completed. The church planter is 77 years young, yes, you read that correctly, 77 years young, and he single-handedly raised most of the funds to do the project. They are still $25,000 short of finishing the project and are praying for the resources. People are responding to the gospel. A neighbor who is a Shaman (a Witch doctor) gave his life to Jesus and is now a member of the church. WELL, HE RAISED THE REST OF THE FUNDS AND JUST COMPLETED THE BUILDING!

A new church building in Mae Tork Dang, Chiang Mai was dedicated and pastor Junah was officially installed on November 24,2018.
