SUMMER 2022

I have all I need—and more! I am generously supplied with the gifts you sent me with Epaphroditus. They are a sweet-smelling sacrifice that is acceptable and pleasing to God. 19 And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
20 Now all glory to God our Father forever and ever! Amen. Philippians 4:18-20

Needless to say, it has been a difficult two plus years for everyone. Restrictions are slowly being lifted in Thailand. Some areas continue to have higher Covid numbers and the restrictions continue to be tougher.

On behalf of all the churches in Vision Thailand, please accept my heartfelt thanks for your faithful generosity throughout the Pandemic – even more so than usual to help the people with much needed food-aid. From what I read and hear, the Pandemic has been very difficult in North America as well with many people losing their loved ones.

One of the challenges we are now experiencing is that people got so used to staying home and maybe watching the worship services online, now they don’t seem to easily return to church. Many of our believers are not used to attending church because they are new to church, and being poor, have to work even on Sundays to support their families.

So, we have started to visit the members in their homes, praying for them and gently encouraging to come back and be a part of the fellowship. We are seeing some success.

Thanks once again for your prayers and support, as we pray regularly for you.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT SEMINARS: In spite of the Pandemic challenges, we held two Leadership Development Seminars on the topic of Spiritual Leadership in Northern Thailand (Chiang Mai), and also in Bangkok for the area church leaders.

A special training session was conducted as well for pastoral leadership entitled UPGRADE LEADERSHIP. The training was well received and attended by 50 leaders
FAMILY CAMP: We felt that it was important to bring people together in these times and planned this Family Camp for three days on the theme of UNITY. We are pleased by the response when 150 registered and there was a wonderful spirit of reunion and praising God and refocus for the ministries once again.

CHURCH PLANTING TRAINING: Several of the Church Planter Training School students continued their studies online and we had the joy of issuing completion certificates to eight students. We are praying and discerning with them now to see if the Lord is calling them into full time church ministry.

WEEKLY PRAYER MEETINGS
9
Throughout the Pandemic the leadership met on a weekly basis online to pray for our churches, our people, and our nation. God answered our prayers and spared us from Covid. Even though many of us got sick, there were no fatalities. We praise God for prayers answered.
MICRO-FINANCING: Vision Thailand does several Micro Financing Projects to help our churches become financially self-supporting. Due to the generosity of some donors, we were able to start a few new Bamboo Splitting Machine businesses. These small businesses are already providing some support to a church in Northern Thailand.

PRAYER REQUESTS:Vision Thailand has been involved in Prison Outreach for several years. Thai Corrections are very open to having Christian Churches come and teach in the prisons. They even allow us to do baptisms in the prisons – both women and men.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
  • Please pray for all of our pastor families. They are under many pressures working in predominantly non-Christian communities.
  • Pray that they are kept safe (physical and spiritual) and be bold in sharing the gospel.
  • Pray for continued open doors for the gospel to make its way across our country.
  • Pray that we keep our vision sharp and not deviate from it.
  • Pray for the 35 new baptized believers to stay strong in their faith as family and communal pressures are intense.
  • On behalf of everyone at Vision Thailand Ministries, THANK YOU for your partnership in sharing the Gospel!
