WINTER 2020 UPDATE

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND BLESSINGS IN THE NEW YEAR 2021!
pic129202001
Christmas Greetings from Thailand with Isaiah 9:6, For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulders, and his name shall be called WONDERFUL COUNSELOR, MIGHTY GOD, EVERLASTING FATHER, PRINCE OF PEACE. It's our sincere prayer and hope that you are enjoying this Advent season with your families, celebrating the coming of Messiah. In spite of the Pandemic, we have been very busy doing just that and sharing the Christmas story with many people in Thailand. Almost all of our churches in VT prepare small gift packages to share with people that attend our Christmas Outreach and Celebration Services, especially for the children. On behalf of all the churches and the pastors' families that you have helped support this past year, a BIG thank you! May the Lord continue to bless you as you share the vision of "empowering Thai Pastors and Thai Churches" through your prayers and financial support!

PARTNERS INTERNATIONAL CANADA AND VISION THAILAND CANADA MERGER!
For almost three years, Vision Thailand has been partnering with Partners International in supporting the ministries in Thailand. As we had been informing you, our prayer and financial support partners, the conversations have been ongoing for the last two years to join hands for the greater effectiveness and efficiency. Our philosophy of ministry is the same - to enable and empower the national churches and national leaders.
Lord willing, the two Boards are hoping to sign a Memorandum of Understanding in February 2021 so we can move toward becoming one Mission. Please check out partnersinternational.ca.

PANDEMIC UPDATE
While the health authorities continue to encourage us to wear masks and socially distance, they have not shutdown public or religious gatherings. So, VT churches continue to meet regularly to worship God and build community, as every one of our churches always celebrates with a lunch after every Sunday service. We thank God that not a single person in our churches has contracted the Corona virus, even though many feel the economic challenges due to job losses.
Even as the Pandemic impact is being felt mostly in economic terms, the country struggles with several political unrest protests and huge demonstrations on a regular basis. The effects of hurricane Noul caused some heavy rains which flooded many low-lying areas and caused many difficulties for travel and for visiting some of our churches in these areas. It is slowly getting better.

  • San Sai Christian Fellowship Evangelism Center by Mr.Polu Pousaeng. This is an extension work from the vision and burden of wanting to introduce the name of Jesus in the neighboring villages. Pastor Yuna Porpue, of the Mae Dok Daeng Christian Fellowship is providing supervision. There are approximately 25 believers and other interested people at the present time.
  • Thank God for Woven Love Church, Lopburi by Pastor Boonruen Imthong, who has expanded the work of the Lord to another Group of Believers at Ban Nam Man, Uttaradit Province with eight believers. And a Group of Believers at Ban Nong Bua Noi, Chaiyaphum Province, where Pastor Boonruen had built some relationships many years ago, but still has no church or pastor in this village. Currently there are 16 members and still praying for God to send a leader to take care of this group of believers.
COMMUNITY SOCIAL WORK PROJECTS

When the government's strict control measures from COVID-19 began to relax, Pastor Wittaya and Pastor Yuwadee Deemark, of Chachoengsao Christian Fellowship Church returned to the Prison Mission after it was stopped for several months. The prison believers group is attended by approximately 25 new and old believers, as well as other interested people. We praise God for 7 new commitments to accept Jesus Christ.

The Chachoengsao Christian Fellowship Nursery Mission is back in operation. Strict health and hygiene protocols are implemented. Almost all of the children come from the community around the church and have very little to pay. The church only accepts what families can pay. They also take several children with exceptional needs, and some people from the church volunteer at the Center.

PRAYER REQUESTS
  • Please pray for all of our pastor families. They are under many pressures working in predominantly non-Christian communities.
  • Pray that they are kept safe (physical and spiritual) and be bold in sharing the gospel.
  • Pray for continued open doors for the gospel to make its way across our country.
  • Pray that we keep our vision sharp and not deviate from it.
  • Pray for the newly baptized believers to stay strong in their faith as family and communal pressures are intense.
  • On behalf of everyone at Vision Thailand Ministries, THANK YOU for your partnership in sharing the Gospel!
  • Thank you for your ongoing prayer and financial support that we were able to fully fund the Mission and also send additional support to provide Food Aid for the last few months during these difficult economic times.
  • Pray that the merger with Partners International will go as planned for the glory of God.
