The coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, His life and times, His ministry, His teachings, His death and His resurrection have had profound impact in the lives of millions of people around the world. Well, it hasn’t stopped.

When we celebrate the miracle of Easter, we think of the group of twelve - the disciples of course. They seemed to be doing just fine as long as things were going well. Here they were, traveling along with this new Rabbi who was growing increasingly popular and revolutionary in his teachings at the same time.

He was performing miracles they have never seen before. Imagine blind seeing, people healed from various diseases, dead raised, and you are in the thick of things. The attention, the popularity, the influence.

And yet, for all that, we don’t ever read anywhere in the Bible that they fully understood Jesus as God - that is, until after the resurrection of Jesus. Well, things didn’t stay good for a long time and as Jesus started to accomplish the mission He came for, one fell apart. Actually, they all fell apart.

Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, the treasurer, sold out for a meager 30 pieces of silver. And after Jesus was arrested, the rest of them, some who made claims on a grand scale, also deserted Him. We know the story of one called Peter, the one who was ready to die for Jesus, denies ever knowing Jesus.

They are scared, upset, re-evaluating their decisions to leave their modest professions and following this new guru. Now, He too is gone. What next? Was it worth the ride? So many questions. They are hiding in a house with the door firmly closed from inside for fear that they too will meet the same fate as their leader did.

The Gospel writer Luke tells us that, "Jesus Himself stood in their midst and said to them, "Peace be to you." Luke 24:36b. Suddenly life had meaning and purpose and they would prove it with their lives by sharing the great news that Jesus is alive and Jesus saves.
This is what Vision Thailand Canada is all about. We are partnering with the Thai Church to share the good news that Jesus loves you, and many continue to accept that love - 2,000 years later.

A few ministry highlights and plans:
  • We are very pleased to welcome Ken Penner from Winnipeg to the Board of Directors of Vision Thailand Canada.
  • We have plans to start ten new Church Plants in 2018.
  • We are having conversations with another like-minded international mission to grow the ministry to reach even more Thai people for Jesus. More in the next Newsletter!
  • The six Bore Wells in rural Thailand in the North where we already have planted churches were received so well that the board has approved to do six more moving forward.
  • Many Thai people have come to Christ and were baptized in the last several months. Please go to visionthailandministries.org to see the pictures.
  • We have several new people ready to enter our two-year Church Planting School, as finances permit. We are being careful to grow the ministry only as we can sustain it.
  • Thank you so very much for your ongoing prayer and financial support.
A VERY BLESSED EASTER TO YOU! Peace be to you, as only Jesus can give!
