News to keep you informed

Thank you Lord, for saving me!

A hundred years ago, the church in North America took the command of the Great Commission to heart and many people went out into the world to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a product of that faithfulness and today I am thankful not only for the many people who brought the gospel to India, but that God in His sovereign will found it worthwhile to save my great-grandparents, my grandparents, my parents and now my generation. Thank you Jesus for saving me!

The apostle Paul says, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? Romans 10:13b-14. He then ends that section with the words, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!

God has given me the privilege to be involved in a partnering ministry with the indigenous church in India and Thailand. All of the pastors and leaders we work with are nationally trained native speakers of the language, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with their own people, in their own communities where they live and where their children go to school together. And the results speak for themselves.

There is a huge shift taking place in overseas missions. While some nations might still need boots on the ground, many are ready to accept the challenge to reach their own people groups. Some mission agencies are shifting their mission philosophy from one of recruiting missionaries in North America to coming alongside national churches overseas by equipping them with training tools, financial resources and prayer.

As a result of this mission philosophy in Vision Thailand Canada, we are able to support up to thirty national pastors for the cost of supporting one North American missionary – and there is no language study involved.

At Vision Thailand Canada, we are committed to come alongside the Thai church to reach Thai people. Today, there are 54 church groups actively engaged in teaching and preaching the gospel and planting biblical churches all over Thailand. Thai people reaching Thai people for Jesus Christ!

There seems to be a door wide open in Thailand these days and to match that, there is a hunger to hear and embrace the teachings of Jesus Christ. As I write this, we are looking for several churches, businesses and individuals to sponsor a national church plant/pastor in Thailand. As Jesus said, “The harvest is ripe, but the workers are few.” In Thailand, the workers are willing but the resources are few. Would you join us in this exciting ministry?

My name is Vidya Narimalla, Senior Pastor at the Kitchener Mennonite Brethren Church. It is my privilege to invite and encourage you and thank you for your partnership in the ministry of Vision Thailand Canada. Enclosed is some information to keep you informed.
